Ironically enough, my favorite teacher was one I didn't think I was going to like at first. x3 Her name was Mrs. Rose, my English teacher in 8th grade. She was a very skinny woman and passionate about literature and language. The first few weeks she came down pretty harsh, but I soon realized it was mainly to wean out any uncaring and disruptive students (It was a Pre-AP/Gifted/Talented class after all).
Anyway, she was really smart. Once I got used to her style of teaching, I had a lot of respect for her. She ran it almost like a college classroom. She knew of our potential, and sure we had to do some grunt work, but I can honestly say my writing improved drastically in that class. We had 20 spelling/vocabulary words a week, which we would have to look up in the dictionary ourselves. Despite that being pretty daunting at first, it became routine for me every Monday, after eating and showering and stuff, I'd go to my room and start on my homework. I'd put on the tv and put some business show about the economy in Asia.
Now I know if you're ready this, your nerd radar is going crazy right now. xD But honestly, it was that stability and growth I had in that year of my life that helped me so much. Plus I had journalism and choir, so I almost always had something interesting going on.
Anyways, Mrs. Rose was kind. She always did these cool things. She managed to get our essays on...I believe it was something about a hurricane that went through a nearby town, into a book for the museum. Also, I remember towards the end of the year we all went outside around the naturely part of the campus, getting inspiration for poems we were going to write. And on the last week of school I was there, I was so busy with packing up and moving, so I wasn't able to get my vocab work done. She was so nice and understanding, especially since she knew I worked hard and took her class seriously.
8th grade was pretty much the best school year of my life, so there's a lot more I could mention. But I just felt like bringing a topic like this up. xP Sorry I wrote so much. -
I love almost all the college professors who have ever taught me. They're awesome. :D

@Kepler That's always nice. :3
@Emma Those teachers are always the best. .3. They're also so underrated sometimes.
