Yeah, that's pretty much what I've decided at this point. The government is involved in so much s--- it shouldn't be involved in, and the government has basically pitted us against each other. We've spent all this time arguing about abortion, guns, gay people, and religion when the argument is simple- the government should just stay out. (I do happen to believe in some gun control, I just use it as an example because it's a contentious issue that divides us.) As for the economy, yes the government should place some regulations just to make sure their isn't abuse, but overall the government gets too involved in it. We give away far too much money to the poor and to agriculture and energy companies, and the American people aren't getting a return on those investments. And what really pisses me off is that the United States still spends ridiculous sums of money of the military. If the United States were a family, the military would be dad's big, dumb boat. We can basically cut 90% of the army and still defend the country from possible attacks. We've been in Afghanistan for almost twelve years, and both Obama and Romney have given no indication that we're getting out. The Libertarians are the only party that understands how f---ing wasteful it is for us to keep getting involved in conflicts overseas.
So f--- left and right. The government uses left and right to divide us and weaken us from raising our voice against it. By the time they've enslaved us, we'll barely even know. It is high time that we as Americans tell the government to get out of our lives, out of our wallets, bring all our troops home and end our overseas empire. Only then can we get on with our lives and live happily and harmoniously. -
