Gross overreach by the federal government, or neccessary means to combat terrorism?

I'm personally not too thrilled that the government can spy on me without a warrant. And I know we're just looking for terrorists right now, but what if our government began using the Patriot Act as a way to go after people who don't agree with the government. Heck, our government might already be doing that. No, I don't feel safer with the government's eyes on me. If anything I feel less safe.

I go on alot of pro-anarchist sites and assuming the government is spying on me, I'm screwed. >.>
