Our school is having a 'Walkathon' to raise money for field trips, school activities, stuff like that. $60-79 lets you skip the whole school day and watch: ($80-99) A chance to smash a pie in a teachers face, ($100+) Shave a teachers head.
But we 8th graders are having a cow because we leave this school in less than a month! What good is it for us? Its a PreK-8 school and the teachers say do it for the younger grades. Which i guess is true because my sister still goes there and I want younger grades to have better field trips than we did.
but the problem is, we dont want them spending the money and stupid plays. We've only gone out of the county once. The science museum, a waterpark, is better than a dorky play about presidents.
Weve already raised 5000 dollars, and we dont want the school deciding on how to spwnd it. -
You could have your parents talk to the school about what you think they should spend it on. And I'd do it if I had the money. Think of it as charity and community service, to help give others' a better chance. That's the way things should go anyways, the people taking the initiative instead of the government. Just make sure whatever you propose the money go toward it still be educational.
