The representatives who were backing up the proposal finally backed down, according to my parental sources. Odds are they finally realized how idiotic their plan was. They probably looked over the Bill of Rights and realized that by backing such a proposal they were willingly able to deny Americans their rights listed under the first amendment. I hear them on the piracy act, but on all honesty there's nothing you can do legally to end it, solely because the actions you'd have to carry out would go against the First Amendment. Freedom of religion, speech, assembly, petition, etc. are listed under that amendment. If they were to carry out SOPA they would be going against their own nation's Bill of Rights significantly. Therefore, I am pleased to I inform you that SOPA has been presumably put to rest, according to my sources... For now.

SOPA sucks balls.

Well, if that's true then yay, victory! :3

Yea it's true. Unfortunately we can still be sent to Gitmo at a moment's notice if we're suspected of being involved with terrorism. And "suspected" and "terrorism" usually have broad meanings. But any time a measure that would bring us closer to an Orwellian state is blocked, I would definitely call it a victory.
