@FoxyWolf713 I was the one who started this thread and it is real there may not be a punishment for children saying period but the law states that sexual education is not to be taught in grades under 6th grade. The law is 100% a real thing and there are multiple articles about it. The law specifically states that “it will restrict girls that are in a grade lower than 6th grade from talking about their periods” I don’t know why they are making the law that way maybe because they think that is “sexual education” by talking about a normal natural bodily function. Even though your great aunt or any other family member that lives in Florida says that it’s not a law that doesn’t make it fake

gimme one sec imma text my aunt who has kids about this...
-
so they do have health class starting in 5th grade, there is no jail time for saying the word "period", and nothing goes on their criminal record either. some parents decide to keep their kids out of health class because they want to teach them themselves, but everything checks out, it's just like all of the other states in america that i've been to. she has one daughter in third grade, one in 5th, one in 6th, and a son in 10th grade. you may have misunderstood the article, or the writer of whatever that bulldookie article was is trying to gaslight people. i'm not trying to call you out saying this, i just want to clarify that florida is NOT a bad place. a lot of floridians are against people being gay, but that doesn't have anything to do with the current topic
-
I’m not saying Florida is a bad place both my grandparents live there and I love Florida but I don’t like this law because if parents don’t tell their daughters about periods I feel that sexual education may be the only way they can protect themselves. I personally think sexual education is a great way to regulate our periods. I feel we should be open about natural things that every woman goes through. I know that there is no jail time because if little girls are saying it they are children and shouldn’t get jail time. As for schools there is a fine or something like that if they teach sexual education to children who are in grades lower than 6th. I’m not saying that sexual education should be taught in 3rd grade I think a introduction to sex-ed in 5th grade may be helpful to prepare children and that’s why I am so against this law.
-
there isn't a law, it's just how the school systems are. teaching a little 3rd grader what sex means is just nasty. even saying things like that to a 5th grader is nasty, but 5th grade is when they do health class and stuff like that in elementary school. parents have to sign a waiver to let their kids take the class, but other than that nothing is preventing kids from talking about their period. talking about sex in school is a whole different thing though. that is not ok for elementary school. sex-ed is taught in middle school, which is fine, but elementary school should not be teaching that

buddy. the law hasn't been passed yet, it was only proposed (as far as I'm aware). it isn't fake news, it's a legitimate law they are trying to pass.
asking your aunt isn't proof, by the way.
also, sex ed doesn't just teach you about sex. -
we literally have sources.
-
i'm just saying, you may have come across something that wasn't entirely truthful. asking my aunt might not be "proof," but she does live there, she has kids, and would know if something like that was going on where she lives. you may have sources, but there is no "proof" that your sources are 100% reliable. i've seen a few things talking about how florida was considering passing that law, but there is no way a law like that will be passed. i'm sorry if i may have upset anyone by correcting this, but none of you live in florida, do you? you don't know what's going on there, so it does not pertain to you anyway. i don't want to cause any drama, but i don't like people spreading around stuff like this

@ foxy
house bill 1069
Here is the actual bill so you can read it. You can't get fake news from the bill itself -
i know they tried to pass that bill, but it was shot down. i didn't mean to say fake news, idk what i meant to say, but it got jumbled in my head or something. i was trying to explain that they shot it down and it's not getting passed. this was quite a while ago and some news sites are just now releasing it or adding on to what they had previously written
-
Thanks for sharing that perspective ☺. I wasn't sure if that was true or not so I looked it up and here's the latest information on it.
According to this bill tracker on the Florida government website it was filed and approved by the governor two months ago. -
^ Well there's your answer, @FoxyWolf713.
...you may have come across something that wasn't entirely truthful.
...well yeah. every news station has its bias. the sources I had given both somewhat lean left. you can look into other sources as well. there's this good website that tells you what way the news stations lean if you want to find some that are center/somewhat right-leaning.

@FoxyWolf Just letting you know my Granddad who knows a lot about politics also said this is true. My stepsis mentioned it and he said that is was true and he doesn't agree with the law. I'm tryna be mean or anything but this is a law they are tryna pass
