This isn't directed at anyone but I've been really deep diving into all these censorship *cough fascist* bills being passed.
A huge part of the appeal to these bills is the idea that it's the parents job to educate children on sexuality and reproductive systems. However, one thing I think is being hugely overlooked by that is the reality that a significant portion of parents do not talk to their kids about those things, or even care to take an active role in their child's education at all.
I am not saying those parents are good or bad or anything, all I'm saying is that leaving it up to the parents to decide is going to create a lot of uneducated children and further sexual stigmas and traumas.
One last thing to consider is that many parents are uneducated themselves on those things and may perpetrate wrong information. I don't think it's the right of a parent to get to indoctrinate their child with harmful information. I think that's child abuse. -
In my opinion, there is no generally right way of sexual education. Thus,
Children 3-5 can learn from their parents, guardians or members of their family. Leaving it to teachers or other people might expose them to explict content which are not suitable for their present ages.
.some parents might not be educated, but that doesn't make them not to be able to tell their children what's private or not, what to do and what not to do. I mean, if they didn't know stuff, they wouldn't get children, would they?
In addition, i feel sex education should be regulated to exactly what should be taught.
As kids mature and grow up, they learn to ask questions, and decide who they wanna be. It is only right to guide them in their decision, not teach them stuff like how to wearor even have sex. There's also reliable stuff online to answer questions too.condoms
Also, this isn't a topic that should be taken too heavily. Everyone learns anyway. -
(Fun fact: double using the strike through text code actually makes it an understrike)
