And I'm not saying all black people are soundcloud rappers, but it's just something about his design...
And refuting the point about diversity, the problem isn't that he's black, it's that they changed the entire design, keeping only the shirt of shaggy.
And another problem, as a friend pointed out to me, He is the most prominent character of the group in pop culture, thanks to memes in the last few years
This is another thing about shaggy. It's not as cut and dry as "the made a white character black". They took Shaggy, removed seemingly everything about him, darkened his skin tone, and then hired a black dude.
The little mermaid point is invalidated because in that case, Ariel actually looks like she originally did.

cause like, this character design? i'm looking at it right now. I wanted to post it here but I can't find an image that will work. I agree that it doesn't look like shaggy, like if you stuck this guy in with the other three I wouldn't be able to tell you who he was. He looks like a regular joe to me, idk why you're fixated on this rapper thing. literally nothing about him makes him look like the rapper.
Personally i wish they'd done different hair, like an afro could have been so cool? or literally anything than npc #3 with a green shirt. -
I just found out that Warner bros just bought cartoon network. I think that's honestly probably what people should be more upset about than this. If you don't like bad remakes and love good animation then this is the worst thing that could possibly have happened. Warner has been exclusively focused on remakes. They also immediately fired 80 cartoon network employees.

This is off topic, but I am honestly more concerned about the lack of Scooby Doo, in a SCOOBY DOO show. I was curious and read up on it, and apparently the reason behind this is the studio wanted the show to be more mature, being an adult cartoon. Here's the article on it:
I still think there were better options however. They changed the other characters, so perhaps change Scooby a bit to fit into the world. I mean, even if you kept his original personality, he would work as a comedic relief character. Idk, I just feel like there was a better option than completely removing him.
On the topic of Warner Bros buying Cartoon Network, I haven't heard about this until now, and am not surprised with the amount of corporate merging happening lately. It is still upsetting to see another studio bought, and see people lose jobs because of this. I hope Cartoon Network's creativity isn't limited in any way, since they excel at making original unique content, and I don't want to see that stifled. -
honestly, I don't really listen to a lot of rap
I dunno, i've just yet to hear a good rap that wasn't associated with a video game or made by a splat-tuber
