Now comapre it to 2018 where the internet and social media controls our lives.
I can't be the only one who thinks this. Social media is making people more depressed, greedy, ect.
Like in the 1900s I don't think girls would cheat on you for yourself over a 6 foot tall NBA player/rapper
The media is literally f---ing society up so bad and everyone is so brain dead at this point that it's so unnoticed.
This is also a kind of different topic, but note how more stupid people are getting everyday. Every week I see some dumb--- acting retarded for clout online and then getting famous for it (supreme Patty) and then people actually think it's funny. I'm convinced humans are devolving -

But so many people let society choose who they are for them. The whole point of life is a big ass journey if you'd say. You have to mature, find yourself, and then live life based on who you really are

about people getting dumber, I don't think that's happening. I think dumb people are just able to get more exposure than they used too because anyone can use social media.

and i also would like to communicate the idea of ‘enslaved by the machine’. what you see there, is not so much dumb people innately, but smart or otherwise common folk who destroy their sense of being through social media.
want to know what soma is? unless youve already read A Brave New World, then i’ll gladly tell you how soma is used. compare it to, say, netflix. netflix is a readily available hideway that puts someone in a stagnant cyberstory. it doesnt do anything to solve any real personal issues, does it? but the person still uses it. that is soma. some medicine to make you feel better, when really you are not curin the problem. you are restricting yourself from the path to the cure : Tackling the issue head on,
productivity.
Social interaction- whatever the issue is, it is not being helped. we all need medicine to hide us away from the political turmoil all around us.

dont fall prey to the social media craze. it breeds egotism and the need to be applauded for a no-good-job done.
dumb people doesnt equal easier susceptibility to media addiction.
neither does smart people lesser susceptibility.
we all can make a choice. we are born with eyes. we can see. so we should perceive accordingly.
we are not born with 100% pure empathy. but we show some signs that we are human. thats enough, isnt it?
either way that is done.. take a moment to sink into the rumbling echo of the ticking clock, for that is all we have in the end. -
