Well you always need two opposing sides, if everyone got along and had the same opinions then nothing would get done. Now as a conservative myself, I personally think that the worst of the left has gone bat s--- crazy, but if they didnt exist, then the republicans would always be in power, which for me sounds like a good thing, but sounds like a nightmare to other feelings over logic people.
Tl:dr, opposition creates balance, which is needed for a productive democracy. -

I'm not right or left at this point. The thing I care most about politically are human rights. I just don't believe politics is answer to our problems. It's become so divided that people literally hate each other and have stopped listening to each other. That's not how you solve problems or have an intelligent conversation.

From my experience the right is usually,not always more tolerant and reasonable than the left. the left has become everything they claim to oppose. Not just on the fringe but in the mainstream.
