It depends on how your state handles relationships in the sense of one of the individuals being a minor and the other being of legal age.
It's considered taboo and not a societal norm to date someone that could technically be your brother that is a year in college while you're still in the hormonal tides of high school.
Also due to maturity levels, you wouldn't quite match up with his because you're probably a freshman or sophomore in high school that is still in the comfort of the vicinity of your own personal bubble investing yourself with trivial teenage matters while he has escaped that bubble by growth and experience and has reached "the real world" like the rest of the miserable scumf---s that have joined the working force of whatever country they manifest that isn't a complete s---hole economically, politically, or socially.
So at some point I agree with IHLAOY but I really don't have a problem with teenage dating so that's where I don't agree with them also.
