Okay? So you've presented us with a personal rant from what I'm assuming is a mother, who is changing the definitions of things to argue a claim against her second grade son.
Facts and opinions are separate. There is no middle ground because they are not on the same spectrum. A fact doesn't require you to agree with it to be true. Her E=MC2 argument was fallacious as f---.
And the idea that without moral truths, that we would have no reason to ever invest ourselves in anything is also a crock of s---. Empathy is what drives us to become emotionally invested. Not "moral truth". Empathy. The idea that "Hey, that really sucks. I don't like that happening." is why we make moral decisions. It's why we become emotionally invested. It's why we care. It's also what governs us to not do bad things.
Crimes aren't committed by people who can distinguish a clear line between facts and opinions. Crimes are committed by people who either don't feel or ignore their empathy.
The only thing actually worth discussing out of that entire article was the fact that our school systems do in fact teach some moral perspectives while teaching kids to not treat moral perspectives as fact. And even then, everything that they teach as a moral perspective, is something that would have a negative effect on the child. Drinking has harmful effects. Curricular dishonesty has negative effects.
In conclusion, the person who posted that opinionated article didn't fully understand the definitions of facts and opinions, came to her own conclusion, tested it against her 2nd grade son, and then deemed herself the winner.
Poor argument is poor. -
There is perception, this varies from person to person. This perception is how they understand reality and everything in.
There is reality, this is everything.
An oppinion is a piece of information based off of someones perception.
A fact is a truth about the universe which is absolutely correct in every aspect.
When an oppinion matches all data perfectly it is a fact.
An oppinion is almost always perceived as a fact.
A fact is sometimes an oppinion. -
Why do you like to spell opinion like that?
-
he spells it how its pronounced.

No. Are you saying with one p it would be pronounced OH pinion?
Iff wee orl torkd how itt woz prunownsd itt wood look lyk thiss. Itts achally reely funn, yu shudd tri itt. Tri itt pleez, itt looks orsum and iz reely funn -
It's a spelling flaw I never got corrected.
-
Stop this weak grammatical argument.
This is my thread and it has a particular purpose which is not impractical lecture. -
The initial arguement has already been shown as bulls---.
-
I think that the article you linked has been proven to be a 'weak' argument already

What is a fairly interesting topic that has remained stationary in my mind is the topic of either gun rights, public school criteria, or the upcoming war.
