Dartistic NewbieI mean, I just focused on gay marrige and asked my dad about it. I thought he was a religious retard. He said he'll never go to a same-sex wedding or live next to a samesex couple. What's so bad about it. I mean, my dad is pretty ignorant and mostly chooses a dumb answer. But this answer was just rude!

Well, people all have their different opinions. You wont be able to change it, and they won't be able to explain it, so don't bother. Just be who you want and marry who ever the f--- you want. Who cares what anyone else things? Nothing is bad about it, I'm not for gay marriage, but I'm not against it either.
You can be gay as long as you don't rub it in everyone's face I guess. State it simple as if it was an everyday subject. Ignore what nasty things people say because they're going to say bad things. -
Seems like his unfortunately ingorant genes passed right on to you.

Dartistic NewbieNo, I accept gay marriage, my dad doesn't.

What I mean, is that regardless of you're stance on gays, (which is probably by dent of your age and generation, nothing more) you come off as quite ignorant and rude in your own right.
For instance, equating the liberal agenda directly with reason, and disagreement with it directly with ignorance is fairly presumptuous in and of itself.
For another thing, people who say what your dad said, tend to be rudely bigoted, but that simgle statement that you chose to go on was not rude xD he doesn't want to be around certain people. Thats fair enough. Its his perogitive. He didn't say theyre bad, he didn't say they're wrong, he said he doesnt care for them. That is not ignorant. Its acknowledgement of personal preference, and yes it indicates other things but you said this particular statement, none of that really matters.
I think In all honesty, you and your father both have the capacity for solid, progressive, logical reasoning, just like most people have no reason to use it -
I don't even know. I'd like to say that there some rational basis, but really it is just based in a centuries-old belief that homosexuality is a crime against nature. And you'd be surprised just how prevalent that brand of repulsion is among even those who aren't particularly religious.
Also keep in mind that the United States is a country where rich, white, heterosexual men have almost all of the power and influence, probably more so than any other country. Therefore bourgeois, elitist ideas perpetuated by rich, white, heterosexual men generally carry more weight with the general population.
