Matt Taylor, a man who was part of the FIRST TEAM EVER to land a probe on an asteroid. was berated and forced to give a tearful apology because he wore a shirt with semi-naked women on it.
The single most crowning moment of his life and because he decided to wear a shirt given to him by a female friend, his accomplishment was ignored in favor of feminist double standards.
[News article about the incident]
This s--- sickens me. And people still ask why I am adamantly against feminism.
-
Yeah no disagreement from me. That's some seriously f---ed up s---. I might be compelled to argue with you more if it weren't for the fact that women are currently making my life a living hell. Gotta love vindictive b----es, you land a spaceship on a comet and they still piss and moan. Cuz we can't let me have cool s---, right?
-
The shirt has nothing to do with the comet. You can congratulate him on the comet and criticize that shirt at the same time.
Which by the way, is hideous. As far as sexist, that's honestly debatable, but s--- if it isn't an eyesore. -
Personally, I think the feminists should create a line of ugly shirts with half naked men on it, but that's just me.
-
My problem with this is actually my own feminist argument. I'm about choice. I don't see what's wrong with bare breasts, as long as it's the choice of those breasts' owner to bare them. Imagery that portrays women as just sexual prizes for men is what bothers me. The images on that shirt are not quite there. Close but not quite. As mentioned before, let's make naked man shirts.
-
Nothing like ruining the crowning achievement of one man's life because he wanted to wear a shirt he got from a friend.
-
And the website his shirt is from sells both genders.
-
Then I don't see what's so wrong with it, other than they're ugly and unprofessional.
-
During an interview afterwords it actually comes out that with his whole team scrambling to get ready to present this historic event, that he was low on clothes and had to grab the only clean shirt he could find.
-
He's wearing multiple layers, but we don't know if the clothes under that were clean, or what the temperature was like, or anything else.
-
You know what, this is his problem man. This is that mans lack of ego, lack of self respect, and lack of backbone. He "tearfully apologized" >.> this is the same story as men "Catcalling" women. Its not the mens problem for hollering at a chick. It the womans problem for overreacting. This isn't the womens problem for being feminists, its the mans problem for not putting his foot down.
-
The dude was giving a public speech during the single greatest event in space pioneering in the past 30 years and he had to spend it with an audience of people calling him a sexist pig. I don't blame the guy for breaking down.
-
Ugh. I'll admit that im talking from a position of having an above averagely thick skin, but I would think a person would prepare for a bad audience. I would think the ORGANIZERS would prepare. Its not like this came out of the left field, people deal with this ALL the time. I just dont see whats so special here that he got blindsided so bad he just tapped out like that

Feminists are obviously idiots. Most Anyone who identifies with the movement is naive or genuinely sexist.
But we already KNOW this. We already know idiots exist. I've been dog piled by feminists for my ideas before, it wasn't pretty but guess what? I didn't have to tearfully apologize and im just ME. this man is a godamned astronaut, he should have a tad more power them I do. I dunno, maybe im just that devout a victim blamer, but I've been telling feminists this for years: you can change the world, you can change yourself, you can change the future, but what you can't change is other people. You can't do it. So stop complaining about how other people act, we live in a world where you may be attacked in one way or anoher, GET OVER IT! the only thing to do, is stand up for yourself. And don't worry about the little idiots running around -
I think the article James shared touched on this: what is we were to judge a woman who accomplished something strictly by what she was wearing? I don't think there is any doubt that feminists would not be okay with that. So clearly there is a massive f---ing double standard at play here.
