Witch trials and racial discremnation are examples social trends not norms. Theres a vast difference.
As for p--- being new..well recorded p--- is only as old as human civilization. So about 6 or 7 thousand years. But monkeys have been managing without recording it, lemurs for example, offer food to females to bend and expose their genitals for purely viewing purposes.
Nature is what is. What we do is natrual. Drawing a line between artifice and nature Is relative my young friend. Unnatrual according to what? You should ask yourself -
Well maybe...but I don't think of p--- as the "norm". Not the kind that exists on the web anyway, I think that kind could well be a trend.
I suppose unnatural as in, as humans we wouldn't watch other people in real life apart from your partner. Well I know some do but in general most people would find that idea weird. And monkeys are animals, they don't have the same awareness as us. -
Humans are animals. Dont be so naive to think we're that different from anything else.
And yes, for humans p--- is as "natrual" as it gets. We've done it as far back as we have recorded things, and viewing of sexual things actually gives us a positive biophysical reaction.
Staring at things which sexually excite us has been shown to lower blood pressure, lower percieved stress, reduce future risk of mental illness, improve your emoional stability, lol the list goes on and on -

I'm all for the "we are animals too" thing to a certain extent but the big difference is self awareness. And I'm not against looking at anything but most of the stuff on the internet is vile and degrading and meant to shock.
What happened to imagination lol -
Self awareness number one isnt such a huge accomplishment. We call metacognition: the ability to think about your own thoughts, and its a trait that pigs, rats, sharks, even some reptiles exhibit.
Often p--- is meant to be degrading because thats one thing that turns a large margin of people on, but I suspect what your talking about isn't degrading at all..and yes sometimes p--- is also meant to shock..so? -
emmajamme2 Newbiemost mainstream p--- isnt "meant to shock". its meant to be erotic. do you think less of people who watch horror movies? most mainstream horror movies are vile and meant to shock. like all animals, we crave excitement and pleasure. the only difference between humans and all other creatures is that we've delved deeper into societal norms and technology

... I don't really know what to say. I don't believe degrading p--- just turns a big amount of people on, people used to do fine with less shocking stuff - its just something that has become because of the internet culture and I guess you're one of them

No, it doesnt by any means makes us the same, but we're not seperated by self awareness.
Again, no, arousal mechanisms have remained largely the same as far back as recorded history stretches.
Albeit ENOURMOUSLY diverse, we're about the same sexually as we ever were.
These things shock you, but they've been around forever. -

The kind we have now hasn't been around forever, I'm kind of losing the will to find the right words XD...you know a lot of other people feel the same way about the p--- on the web
Really, I doubt you're older than me. Shocking horror movies and shocking p--- are two different things. -
I know a LOT of other people feel the same way, but that doesnt valudate the argument. And while the internet hasnt existed very long at all, the concelts behind the clip online have for thousands of years.
