I hate to be a rabble-rouser, but I'm just too f---ing fed up with this government. Our country is screwed. The government doesn't do s--- for the people anymore, just for the themselves and the corporations that have bought them.
-
As long as there is capitalism, it will always be a lie.
-
I was kind of going there, yeah. As long as it is legal to be obscenely and unnecessarily rich, it is pretty easy to make sure the government is working for the few instead of for everyone.
-
I'm one of those weird people who thinks the government shouldn't be private property. Well, if what I'm thinking of counts as government, anyway. There isn't really a specific ruler and everyone has a say.

you're thinking of a fully democratic system, and while it's impractical for large scale society, it is and has long been employed in tribal society.
as far as corporations though, yes. I agree full that they are out of control, and have been since before 1858.
while I'm not opposed to a non-democratic system(or at least it wouldn't surprise me) I dislike this form of indirect corporate rule because it's emphasis is on quick and cheap.
granted successful business doesn't necessarily mean evil, it's unfortunate that big business tends to destroy the earth we live on and our health at the same time -
Damask NoviceI disagree. We are very lucky to have a system that works so well and a world where we can call the cops if we need help. They didn't have that in the olden days. We get a lot of help today. People think they don't have enough money, but they do. All you need is enough money to survive. That's what life is about: surviving, worshiping God, an surving your purpose on this earth.

Oh, jeez. I'll just make this very brief: you are wrong. I appreciate the sentiment, but the truth is that a lot of people in America are living pretty badly, and it isn't always their fault, and they have very little opportunities given to them to change their placement in society. You personally may feel lucky to live in this country. I do too, but I've had it pretty easy. I grew up in a safe, friendly community, went to a decent school, never had to live in poverty, never wanted anything and wondered how I was gonna pay for it. I was born into a good situation, basically. A lot of people aren't so lucky.

The system is crap for me. Guy broke in to our house at 4 in the morning, probably doing meth, and tried to get away in our van. Called the cops, they just shrugged and walked away and we had to pull the guy out ourselves.
Don't even get me started on money.
