Since both my parents are teachers I get a first hand look at what's happening in schools. It's not the teachers, it's what they're forced to teach. Teachers aren't given leeway to teach to the child. My mom teaches people who can't read and are in middle school. She gets a kid that is in sixth grade and reads on a kindergarten level. She is expected to get that kid to mastery level on a sixth grade standardized test by the end of the year. How is one person supposed to pick up a kid's reading level by six years in one? Not to mention she has three other classes, each with 20 students, filled with kids with the same problem. My mom usually is able to pick up each student's reading level by four years in one, but they don't reach mastery on their grade level's test that's points taken off of her. She could get fired because of it. What the school board forgets is that these students aren't machines. They can't learn six years of material in one. Also, the students aren't even measured by growth from year to year. They're measured by score alone. Because my mom only picked up the kid's level by four years instead of six, that reflects badly on her. It's actually considered extrodanairy that she was able to pick up that kid's score by that much, but, again, that's not what the school board cares about. It's all about numbers.
@tongue We were talking about where money should go. -
Everyone just wants money. People will do anything just to get that pay check. Money is the driving force in this world. That's right, a piece of paper is leading us into the shitter. It's not right. People debate about changing things but in reality they aren't trying to change much, they are just trying to work around things according to the system. The truth is that human beings need to change their ways of living in this world entirely. Guys, just look at all this. Nothing in the modern world is working because we just try to tweak things a bit so that the odds lean in our favor, weather (That's probably not the right 'weather') we say we are doing it for the better of everyone else or not. I know I'm not exactly speaking from a political view, but politics really can't do much in the reality that we are too blind to see. It's a system of selfishness and corruption that shouldn't be relied on to fix this world.
-
Everything is corrupt, no matter where you go. It's sickening.
-
Well, I'll say just one thing in response to that: the people do get to choose their leaders in this country. You can complain about politicians being bought out by special interests all you want. But ultimately those people are our representatives, so it is fair to say we've been corrupted as well. I don't subscribe to cynicism, because ultimately that is a death sentence wrapped in a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you've decided to sit on the sideline and disengage from everything, you're part of the problem, not part of the solution. If you're okay with that, fine. Just don't go thinking you're a hero because you reject the process.
-
Well hey, I'll just say what I said in another thread a minute ago. I make a million dollars a second and I live in a giant castle thats bigger than the world, it's not even on the world, it's in another place and I come out of the ground and I swim every where and I have giant wings. So fck the world.

I'm not much of a debater. I'll post my thoughts a little later when I get shit together in my mind. Plus I'm lazy as fuck, and I just told you why none of this affects me.
-
Well I have one thing I can say. Succumbing to a system that has ultimately failed this world is complete bull shit. Thinking the only thing you can do is just sit on the sideline is just allowing the one's in charge to confirm that you mean absolutley nothing and cannot do anything to make some kind of difference in this world. It might be useless, but speaking out against this bullshit is the best one can do in the hope that someone else with here their voice of change and stand up with them. If someone just posted before me fuck you, I have a golden shitter that is filled with golden water.

Let me begin at this. The gun has no mind it is an object. The person behind the gun has a soul and a mind. Think about it. Why do people pick up a gun and say I'm going to shoot something or someone. Well let me answer that. People think its their job to get revenge it is not. People let hate fester in them like a disease until it finally destroys their minds. Many of the problems with guns now involve someone shooting a person because of revenge against them. People think solving the problem with violence is the answer. Its not and has never been. People say the gun is the problem its actually the person. Yes the gun is in the persons hands but it does not pull its own trigger. But people now don't see that, when a gun crime happens people jump onto a freaking wagon against guns but they don't think of the person behind the shooting. Yes the people who shoot someone usually has a problem in their heads and either bullying. But it's not the guns choice to shoot the person it is aimed at, the person holding that gun, it is his or her's choice. But as I said at the beginning, the gun is an object, lifeless with no soul and no mind, but the person holding it has a soul and a mind, they must chose which one is right. Sometimes the person must think before acting, before they do something they regret.

I think that you a gun permit to own a gun and before you get the permit you need to be tested for any mental disorders. You should need to renew the permit once every six months. If you ever seem mentally unsound they take the guns away.
-
Guns shouldnt be banned. If they are, the good people cant have them as self defense, the bad people will either still get a hold of guns or find other ways to kill people.
The part of news stories you dont hear is like that one school shooting where the vice principal went out to his car and got his gun and kept the guy who did the shooting at gunpoint till the cops got there. or in the mall shooting where someone who's a good guy does the same thing with his gun to keep the guy doing the shooting from killing more people. -
Exactly. How is someone supposed to protect his family if he doesn't have a gun? Criminals will get them either way.
-
That's my point Rascal. I mean people will still be able to buy the guns but in secret or on a black market.
-
I was agreeing with you.

Mental disorders has nothing to do with guns. That's offenseve to me. I have a mental disorder, and I have tons of guns, but I don't go around shooting around people.
