Though I doubt you guys have been noticing that I was reading it with mi clase. xD So here:
Kino - Poor indigenous Mexican guy.
Juana - Poor indigenous wife.
Coyotito - Their one son.
Juan Tomas - Poor indigenous brother of Kino.
Appolina - Poor indigenous wife of Juan Tomas.
Doctor - Rich and fat French guy who is a doctor and his name is never told.
Okaaayyy so basically Kino's son gets stung by a scorpion and he's dying so they have to take it to the doctor. So the doctor is like f---ing "omg no no way i'm going to take care of poor Mexicans all they do is get stung by scorpions."
So then Kino finds the pearl that's going to give him the money to pay for just about anything. But then the doctor and some others (mainly the doctor) are trying to kill him or steal the pearl. So one day Kino goes out and I THINK the doctor goes up to him and stabs him, so Kino stabs the f---ing s--- out of him and kills him.
I think it was the doctor because he was never mentioned again.
Then he and Juana and Coyotito go stay with Juan Tomas and his wife the night before they try to run away. But then there's like a whole bunch of people searching him down because he killed someone. So Kino gets a rifle, and then he tries to kill them...
And he accidentally shoots his son Coyotito between the face and kills him.
So it ends that Juana and Kino give up the pearl because it brought them evil.
And I'm serious, at one point in the story Kino had punched Juana in the face and kicked her side, and I was like "Yep, typical family from my country. :I GET YO ASS IN THE KITCHEN."
Damn that story was intense. -

I hated that book. It was too depressing.

It is sad. .n. Like honestly I've never read a story originated from mi pais that wasn't depressing in the end or the beginning or middle.
