Ivan didn't even react, just stared emptily at the ceiling, only sorrow in his eyes.

He wrapped his arms tightly around the Russian's neck, trying to soothe him.

Ivan closed his eyes and hugged him back slowly.

"Ivan.." he whispered, hugging him tightly.

"Don't leave me... Ever..." Ivan whispered into Giovanni's shoulder as the years slowly started to trickle out.

"I'll never leave you," Giovanni whispered back, patting his back.

"T-th-thank y-you." Ivan said as he started to sob.

"Anything," Giovanni muttered, still patting him as he sobbed.

Ivan kept crying and wrapped his arms tightly around Giovanni.

In an attempt to calm him, Giovanni sang softly. His voice was weak and it was cracking due to him being sick, but it was light like a feather as well.

Ivan took a deep breath and quieted himself to listen to Giovanni sing.

"Este lindo nino que nacio de noche quiere que lo lleven a pasear en coche.. Esta linda nina que nacio de dia quiere que la lleven a ver a su tia.." he sang in a whisper.

Ivan didn't know what it meant, but the words soothed him.

He kept singing that over and over, each time his voice getting softer and weaker.

Ivan fell asleep while Giovanni was singing.
