Elli walked in and took a seat.

He took a seat in front of her.

They got menus and Elli began to look through it.

Giovanni took a quick look through it, and quickly decided on oatmeal. It reminded him of how Ivan had fed him it.

Elli just ordered a cup of coffee and a donut.

He kicked his feet against the table a little.

"Well, how are you, Giovanni?" Elli asked politely.

"I'm okay.." he said softly. "How are you..?"

"As good as a person can be in a situation like this, I guess.." she said.

"I'm really sorry for all of this," Giovanni whispered. "Kind people like you and the family don't deserve it.."

Elli nodded. "Sometimes things happen that you can never change. It happens to everyone, no matter how tragic."

He nodded as well. "I guess.. God figured that the family would be strong enough.."

"Yeah.." Elli said. "But that's not what I wanted to talk to you about. I wanted to talk to you about my brother, Ivan."

Giovanni nodded a bit. "Okay.."

"Since he came back here to Russia, I've noticed something's different about him. He does seem a bit more compassionate, most likely because of you, but there's also something else, something bad. I don't know what it is.. And I want to know."
