It hurt, after I'd spent so much time picking out a book that I knew he'd love, and sold some of my own books to have enough money to buy the book for him. He didn't look at it, and I thought he didn't care. He rejected my goodbye hugs, every single one. But he made a point of finding my mom and telling her he wanted to see me sometimes over the summer.
Now, why, if I know he actually does care about me, am I crying harder? -
