Masa: "I-I'm fine. R-Really, I am." Sobs were coming out of my throat, so I stuttered on most of my words.
Minata: I stopped outside of the door to the dining room, and sat down on the ground. -
Masa: I think for a second, then remember something. "I-I know a little bit of sign language."
Minata: "It's my fault. I should have watched her." -
Minata: "I shouldn't have let her come downstairs in the first place. And now, after such a long time of not being able to talk to her, I can't talk to her again."
Masa: "But it's not his fault." I run my fingers over the gems on the flute. -
Masa: I nod. I don't know what to say.
Minata: "I just wish I could take her place. She's so innocent. She never does anything wrong. But she's still the one getting hurt." -
Masa: "You really care about Pacifica, don't you?"
Minata: "I know." I stand up. -
Masa: I nod. I know how much he cares about her.
Minata: "Let's go." I say, going back up to the room. -
Minata: I walk back into the room and sit down next to Masa on her bed. "I'm sorry." I tell her.
Masa: I could lipread what he said, so I say, "It's okay," and put my arms around him. -
Masa: "Um, Brayden, thanks for not killing Minata."

Minata: I put my hand on Masa's cheek. "I love you."
Masa: It was easy to lipread that. "I love you to, Minata." -
Masa: "I'm hungry. Can we go eat?" I ask
Minata: I nod, then we walk down to the dining hall. -
We both fill up our trays, then go sit down.

Masa: "Are you mad?" I ask Minata
Minata: I nod no. -
A doctor rushes in and picks up Masa.
Masa: "Hey! Put me down!" I screech, kicking my legs.
The doctor runs out.
Minata: "Masa!" I run after them. -
Doctor: Okay, almost there. Almost there.
Masa: The guys put a rag over my face that smells weird...It's making me kind of sleepy...
Minata: "Put her down!" -
Doctor: Ah! They're following me! I try to lose them in the maze of corridors.
Minata: I manage to stay close enough not to lose them.
