It had been only a week in human time, that my home was destroyed. Myself and Vladimir had some how escaped, I was glad to have him. I'd known him as long as I could remember. Our ship was in shreds after we crash landed and we hid in a 'forest' as the humans called it. "Vladimir?"

Vlad glanced over at Stelle. He'd just landed the ship in a strange place on Earth. The ground beneath his feet, he realized, when he stepped out, was soft. Light filtered down to the ground from above. Remembering the research he'd done once, he smiled, knowing the words. Sun. Forest. Trees.

"Yes?" Vlad looked down at Stelle. He was sitting on one of the-branches, wasn't it?- of a... what was the word again? Tree?

I looked up at Vlad. "Oh. I wondered where you went. Just checking."

She continued to run, and she felt like never stopping. She told him all her secrets, everything. They loved each other, they made love... She couldn't handle this at all.

"Oh, okay." He jumped down from the tree, landing on his feet. "I'm getting kinda sick of this place."

She ran into forest, not aware of where she was going.

"I know. This place is weird." I said sitting on the brown surface.

"Wasn't the point to go find the humans and see how they live?" he asked, sitting down next to her. "And then, eventually live like they do?"

She soon ran into a tree, and was knocked out.

I sighed at Vlad's words. "Yeah, I guess we just have to get used to it." I heard a thump. "Did you hear that?" I said, standing on my feet.

He nodded, standing up. It could be one of those nonthreatening creatures, but, in case it wasn't, he pulled a knife from his pocket.

Everything went black, and soon her memories of her and him flashed in her eyes.

"Let's go find out what it was." I said hiding a bit behind him.
