I lead the rest of the passenger from Paris to their rooms, then wait at the end of the hall for the next bell to ring.

I look at my watch, and see that the boat is about to leave the port of Paris. The captain will want me below deck in about twenty minutes.

I start making my rounds again, ending at room 104. I knock at the door. 'Shelby? Are you there?'

'Hello, I came to give you this.' I hold out a tray with a large kettle of tea and two crumpets on it. 'May I come in?'

'What? You think I'm going to let a pretty little lady like you eat in here? No no no, you're coming to the dining room with me.'

I took her hand. 'Come on, let's go.' i said, and led er over to the grand staircase.
