Elaine looked outside her window. It was raining. "Agian??!?!!" she said to herself. It rained almost all the time. She sighed and sat down. Then she stood up and got her jacket and sneakers and went to walk outside. The rain wasn't light,the rain wasn't heavy,it was in the middle. Not many people were outside,only a couple. Elaine started walking around her neighborhood. The rain felt good. Elaine was kinda happy,but she didn't know why. She just was. -

Reah played outside in her front yard, splashing in puddles formed by the never ending rain. This was her favorite thing to to, jump around while getting wet. -
Elaine saw a little girl playing puddles. [i]CUTE!!!![/b] she thought while smiling. Not many people come out when it's raining. Elaine glanced at the girl once in a while. She sometimes saw the girl looking at her. Elaine just kept walking in the rain.

Amity walked home from school, trying to be as cautious as possible. She felt the rain soak into her hair. 'Just what I need.' she sighed in relief. -
Reah saw a girl walking down the street. She wanted to say hi, but her mother always said not to talk to strangers. Reah waved at the girl and continued jumping.

Elaine waved back at the girl smiling friendly,then contiuned to walk. Elaine decided to go back to her house. Elaine dried off,put on the movie Valentine's Day,made popcorn,got a can of soda,and sat down. She loved watching movies on a rainy day.

"Reah! Time to come in sweety!" her mother said "Okay!" Reah called back, and raced up the steps to the front door.

Amity arrived at her front porch. Her cellphone started to ring. 'f---.' she sighed

Elaine ignored the rain pattering on the window. When the movie was over her phone started to ring. It was her mom. She answered it. "Hi Mom." She said.
"Sorry Im not home yet,there's traffic."Elaine's mom said
"It's okay,where's dad?"She asked
Her mom answered"He's in traffic too,were trying to get home."
"Okay,bye mom."Elaine said,hanging up. Elaine went outside agian to ride her bike. -
When inside Reah's mother said that she and Reah's father were going out for a while so Reah would have a babysitter. Reah nodded her head and drank the hot-coco her mother had made.

'Hello?' Amity asked over the phone. 'hey,sweetheart.' her father answered. 'Hi,Daddy. Where are you?' she continued. 'Well,Ami,I might not be home in a long time.' he frowned

'Why?' Amity asked, panting. He told her it doesn't matter,and that she had another babysitting job. 'The kid's name is Reah.I've got to go now, Amity.' he explained 'Goodbye.' the devastated girl said, disconnecting the call.
