Oh, crap. What do I say? I'm a mutant freak and I need to hide from wackjob scientists who are chasing me?
"I'm...I'm Lacey. I need to stay here," Lacey said quickly. "There's a bunch of wackjobs after me." -
'Ok.' Amity answered,putting the sharp knives away. 'I thought you could've been someone else.'

Reah snored away in the hallway, unaware of the person in her house

"Um, do you have a room that's at least, um, 28 feet long?" Lacey asked. Sure, it was an odd question, but she needed to rest.

'I think so.' Amity announced 'I don't live here, so I don't know.' she heard Reah in the hallway.

"Okay. Thanks," Lacey said, running into the living room. This should be big enough... Lacey thought, then she spread out her wings. Her wings were pure white, like an angel's.

Amity picked up Reah, and carried her to her room. The girl left her new friend's bedroom, closing the door behind her.

Lacey sat down, making sure she wasn't visible froom the windows. She closed her eyes, and sighed. A real house... Lacey thought. She'd spent her whole life living in a dog crate, so a house was new to her.

Amity's phone rang yet again. 'Hello?!' she yelled down the line 'Hello.' a sinister voice answered

Lacey was so tired, she just layed down on the floor, her wings spread out on either side of her. I wonder if Cassie got out... She's so young...

'Hi, there.' Amity greeted the man on the other line. 'What's your name?' he asked

"Amity? Who's on the phone?!" Lacey yelled, standing up and running out to the phone. She grabbed it out of Amity's hand. "Hello?"
