"Wait, Celeste!" I tried to wrench myself out of Dylan's grip.

"She's safer there then with us. We have to go!" I tried to pull Nik with me.
You can go to sleep. We can start tomorrow if you're up to it -
I reluctantly followed, still holding the guy's collar. We ran through the forest as fast as we could but I could still hear the sounds of walkers behind us.

I'm fine. The food sleep has worn off by now.

The walkers were crashing through the woods behind us, right on our heels. I kept looking back to make sure Nik was still there, even though her hand was in mine.

I ran behind Dylan, reassured to have him leading so I could focus on my speed and following.

The miles flew by, adrenaline masking the ache that was sure to come later. We lost most of the walkers following us but there were a few hardheaded ones still on our trail. I stopped, pivoted and shot two of the five.

When Dylan started shooting, I grabbed my sword from the guy and charged one of the walkers. Its head fell to the ground with a thump soon followed by it's body.

I shot the fourth and crushed the head of the last one. Then I collapsed onto the ground from exhuastion, breathing hard.

I walked over to Dylan and glanced at the guy, but it seemed like he had passed out. I wrapped my arms around Dylan and put my head on his chest. "You okay, babe?"

"I'm fine." I panted, laying back against the grass. It had rained recently and the wetness was seeping through my jacket. " For an appocolypse, I'm so out of shape."

"Oh, shut up!" I ran my hand over his abs. "You seem pretty fit to me."

I chuckled and kissed her forehead.
"I'm no Superman." -
"Well, you are my John Connor." Ibent down and kissed his lips. (John Connor is from the Terminator)

I wrapped my arms around Nik and pressed as close as I could without hurting her. As usual, she felt wonderful against me.
