Okay. :3
I sighed and forced myself to get up, causing my kitty to jump off my lap and out the half opened door. I closed the curtains and grabbed my coat, going to go for a walk. Our maid was just entering the room as I was about to leave. "I'm sorry, Angel, I wasn't aware to were planning to go somewhere." I smiled. I liked our maid, she basically raised me while my father was gone or drunk. So all the time. "Just going for a walk, Maria." She nodded.
"Alright, would you like me to tell your father if he wonders where you are?"
He wouldn't care. I thought bitterly, but forced a sweet smile. "Of course." I said, and hurried out the door. -
"Not suitable," I mumbled, making my way out of the gas station. Its musty air was horrible; it was quite a job just to breathe there. If I fell asleep amidst all of the suspended particles in the air, there was no telling if I would wake up. Not worth the risk. I trudged along the sidewalk, my head down. I could feel the coldness of the pendant against my chest. Swing, swing, swing... It had become the rhythm of my life. I counted my steps based on the sways of the necklace. It had been my father's; he'd given it to me the day he had died; the day my whole life had come crashing down.
-
I walked down the long hallways, my steps echoing in the empty camber-like area. I reached the door and looked back, one more time. Then I opened the door and let the fresh, cool air touch my face. I sighed, I always loved the outdoors. I stepped out, and started heading down the long driveway.
-
My footsteps echoed off of various buildings as I made my way towards the richer part of town. There was bound to be a shed that I could stay in. These people wouldn't give a second thought before calling the cops, but what was I to care? By the time they'd get here I'd be long gone.
-
I sighed again and looked around, starting to turn towards the small woods a mile away from home. I needed to get away from people, from humans. I just needed to be alone, for a few hours.
-
Swing, swing, swing... My memories, my life, my name. It all resided on that one string. I pulled my hood up over my head, glancing around me. It was relatively quiet. Good.
-
I reached the edge of the woods, running my hand along the ancient bark of a tree, listening to the quietness. It was beautiful.
-
The woods. A perfect way to go unseen. There might be a bit of shelter there as well. I changed my course, heading towards the trees.
-
I sighed, pulling out a small pocket knife I kept hidden in my jacket pocket, putting the blade to my skin, making a slicing motion. I bit my lip as pain come over me, a numb feeling in my arm. I let out a small whimper.
-
I stopped walking for a second. I heard a noise, like a whimper. I glanced around, focusing in on a large tree a bit deeper into the forest. I could just barely make out a girl standing there. I saw a gleaming silver object and immediately knew it was a knife.
-
I watched the dark, red liquid run down my arm, and drip off my fingertips. I felt hot tears run down my cheeks.
-
I walked towards the girl, my feet making barely any noise as I proceeded. I stopped a few feet behind her. Yup. She was cutting. A rich girl. Who would've thought. I stood there for a moment, remembering how I used to do the same.
"Don't do that," I murmured quietly.
I have to go for dinner. I'll be back later. -
I froze, dropping the blade. I slowly turned to see a boy looking at me. Why do you care? Was what I wanted to say, but what I ended up saying was "Why? I have nothing left..."
Okay. -
Back. :3
"I'd beg to differ," I replied, staring at her. She was pretty... really pretty. -
"Well, all that I really care about." I said, looking at him.
