"I'll be right back, then." I walked up towards the counter. One black coffee, one mocha latte, and a chocolate chip cookie. No, the big one. I ordered and handed over the money. After receiving the change, I carried our stuff back to a table.

I fiddled with a few of the sugar packets, arranging them in different orders.

"Tadaa," I smiled, placing his coffee in front of him and sitting down. I took a sip of my latte, a ring of whipped cream making what looked like a mustache on top of my upper lip.

"Thank you," I mumbled, still arranging them. Left or right... flipping them... turning them...

"You're welcome." I wiped my mouth with a napkin. "I got a cookie, if you'd like some. I thought we could split it."

I glanced up, eyes wide, inching away. "I don't know..."

"I... Never mind. It was a stupid idea..." I glanced down, my voice quiet. "Just forget I mentioned it."

"No... Not you." I sneered. "Just the..." The rest of my response came out jumbled and nonsensical.

I took another sip of my latte, staring down at the plastic cup and its contents.

I took a deep breath, puttng aside my ridiculous fears. "Okay... but just a bit."

I glanced up at him. "They're really good, trust me." I took the cookie out of the brown paper bag and broke it in half once, then once again. "Take your pick," I said, pushing the pieces on the bag towards him.

I took a small piece, about the size of my two thumbs, and took a bite.

I watched him, waiting for his reaction. I pushed my silky black hair out of my face. It was so fine; it always fell in my way.
Fine as in thin. -

xP Some people might have thought I meant fine as in "Damn girl, you lookin' fine." It HAS happened before. So I was being precautionary. xD
"I knew you would," I smiled, eating a piece of cookie myself. I bit off a tiny piece. People used to tell me I ate like a bird... Which was probably true. I barely ate at all.
