simon waved his hand, great thorned vines grew up the mens legs, wrapping them in a great spiked cocoon.

Out of luck, the police were arriving, they questioned Simon and Kali as to what had happened.

simon answered that he had called the police because they had been shot at. he then showed them his car...
... but he said that he didnt know why they were wrapped up with vines. -
Kali was whistling and going along with Simon, afraid she might accidentally say something wrong.
