Avery walked through the doors. Looking at everyface. she looked in the corner, and saw a group of popular girls and football team stars. Then she passed through the corner, and ran into somebody, knocking his books to the floor. "oh sorry.. I didn't see you there" -
Nate stumbled backwards before regaining his balance. "It's okay," he said quietly. He slowly lowered himself to his knees, reaching and feeling around the floor before taking his books in one hand. My cane... "Um, could you hand me the white cane, please?"

"Sure," She said sweetly, and picked of his cane and handed it to him, "I'm Avery. I just moved here from Toledo."

After recovering his cane, Nate smiled. "Hi there, Avery. Welcome to Rosewood. I'm Nathaniel, but you can call me Nate if you'd like. I'm what they like to call 'the school charity case' around here."

"Oh.. That's not very nice," She said, looking concerned.

Nate shrugged. "I don't really think anything of it."

"Well, if it makes you feel any better, at my old school I was known as 'that girl'"

"And why was that? You're incredibly nice."

"I don't know," She said, Looking into Nate's eyes," Probably cause nobody ever had the guts to talk to me."

Nate furrowed his brow. "Really? Talking to you is anything but difficult."

"Yeah but it was because i wasn't in "That group" or I didn't have "Those frinds" and I didn't have "That Hair" I was always 'that girl'"

"Oh, that's incredibly unfair..." He frowned.

"Ehh. I'm just hoping this school is better. At least now I can start over."

Nate nodded. "I hope you find what you're looking for here." The bell rang. He smiled. "I'll see you later, Avery. No pun intended, of course..."
He started down the hallway, sweeping his cane around in front of him unt he reached homeroom.
