  Matt scoffed. "Perfect?! Psh... You and you whacked out mind. I'll see you later, reluctantly, I must add," Matt said bitterly before leaving, slamming the front door shut behind him.

  I sat still for a moment. "His problem..." I mumbled. I had heard Mia tell us to shut up. I had done just that, but Matt hadn't. She must've been pissed.

  "Shut the f--- up, Matt," I mumbled as he slammed the door. "No one here cares." I sighed and closed my eyes, realizing how tired I was.

  I smiled at Mia's selective words. I sat down on the edge of the couch. Kissing her forehead, I whispered. "Get some sleep. Call me of you need anything." I gently squeezed her hand before heading to my bedroom.

  I slipped off my shirt and threw on some sweatpants. I took care of daily hygiene related functions. I carried out a spare pillow and blanket for Mia. I gently lifted her head and placed the pillow underneath it. I then draped the blanket over her frame. "Good night," I whispered, before walking back to my room.
