At 12:45, we had to go to lunch. I wanted to avoid food poisoning so I ate a sandwich I had made in the morning.

Eric found Ashley at lunch and sat with her. "Hey."

I swallowed. "Hi"

Eric grinned. He was probably the only student without a lunch. Then again, the 'three square meals a day' idea wasn't exactly the norm for him. "So... Past two classes, how've they been?"

"I feel sorry for frogs." I offered him half of my sandwich. -
"Why?" He gave her back the part of the sandwich. "No thanks."

"Dissection...Ew." I felt like throwing up just thinking about it.

"Oh." It reminded him of the experiment. Imagining Ashley strapped down to a table like a frog about to be dissectected in a high school science class made him even more sick than she felt. I can't let that happen to her. It won't happen to her. Ever. He didn't show any traces of his feelings or thoughts. "Dodgeball is easy."

He nodded slightly.

"Do you want to ask me more questions?" I was looking for anything to get my mind off the frogs.

"Did you have a lot of friends at your old school?" anything to forget the experiment.
(We had to dissect frogs in third grade... I skipped out on most of the dissection unit except for worms and starfish.) -
(in this science program we have this year,yes i am such a nerd, we get to dissect a squid.)
"A few...but not like, I'll share all my secrets with you friends." -
"Why not?" Somehow he'd been put under the impression that every human girl had a friend like that.
(Cool. They did something like a squid a few years ago with the seventh grade... This year we have to do more dissection... I wonder if I can skip this one too... Then again...)
