I dug my bare feet into the sand, absorbing it's cold feel. I may have been in shorts and a hoodie, but the cold din't get to me. I just stared at the ocean, washing up near my toes.
This is the cold I long for. This is the cold I need. -
I walked along the beach, thinking about how Grandma wouldn't know I was down here. Neither would Dad. Nobody would recognize me here, either. I was safe from being told on.

My white-blonde air glistened in the moonlight, and I just stood there, taking it all in.
The wind. The cold. The crashing waves, the girl walking quickly towards me.
Wait...what?
I turned my head to the side, where I saw a figure getting closer and closer, quietly ruffling the sand beneath her. -
I looked up. Someone was standing in the sand ahead of me. I turned off my iPod and stared at them for a second. Do they recognize me? I haven't been here in a while, even if they did, I've changed too much for them to remember me...

I stared intently, as she stared at me. I cocked my head to the side, trying to make out her face.
It wasn't one that I recognized, not in the least. I licked my lips, wondering if I should speak.
She had a damaged look in her eye. Something was wrong. -
She didn't recognize me. I turned my iPod back on and walked past her.

I turned around and reached out, grabbing her shirt and stopping her from walking.
What am I doing..?!
