Thread Topic: Anyone still here?

The British author, Anthony Horowitz, was my inspirational introduction into mystery writing.
Agatha Christie is a phenomenal crime writer!
But I have to say Michael Morpurgo is my biggest inspiration, after reading one of his novels I was so inspired!
Have you ever read 'Alone On a Wide Wide' and 'War Horse'? -
Typo error
*'Alone On a Wide Wide Sea' -
I've heard of a new movie based on a book called 'War Horse', but I've never read either of them.
Have you, by any chance, read 'alice in Wonderland'?
Anthony Horowitz...the name rings a bell.
Oh, I can't forget my favorite mystery writer: Sir Arthur Conan Doyle! Sherlock Holmes was GENIUS. -
Who hasn't heard of the film?
Steven Spielberg is directing it; can't wait!
I've never read 'Alice in Wonderland', I know I'm a million years behind, but I've been dying too. Is that a Roald Dahl book?
What are you reading currently? -
No, 'Alice in Wonderland' is a Lewis Carroll book. For Roald Dahl, my favorite book of his would have to be Matilda.
Hmm....currently? Well, Pretty Little Liars series, ouse of Night Series, Gallagher Girl series, Heist Society series, Hunger Games series and 'Through the Looking Glass'.
I read a lot of books at once xD
What about you? -
I love Matilda, one of Dahl's best works I think!
I tried reading more than one book before, and my head almost exploded; it felt like school all over again.
I'm currently reading 'The Grapes of Wrath' by John Steinbeck, ever heard of him? -
Sorry, but nope. I'm not exactly 'college level' yet...
I'm a good reader, but I prefer modern fiction. THe title doesn't attract me much :P
I'm a picky reader xD
Would you ever pursue a career in creative writing? -
I concluded that I wanted to be the next Anthony Horowitz when I was twelve, but realistically I'm not a good enough a writer to make a living.
I want to be a journalist instead, and do writing as a hobbie at the side.
What about you? -
I would love to be an author, it's always been a dream of mine. I think, I'm good enough a writer, not so much on the creative side. Writing and storytelling on the side would be perfect.
Although I'd love to be a poet: my goal in life is to go down in history, and writing seems to be the most realistic way to make that dream come true.
But, I recently discovered a hidden talent of mine: dialogue. I'm good with dialogue, since I had to write a script in Drama and it turned out very, very good.
So....that might come in handy later on. Performing Arts are always an option, as well. -
I can definitely tell you're a gifted writer, just by looking at how you construct your sentences.
You'll be an amazing author one day! -
Aw, thank you! It means a lot, really it does. I like to write, but...I like to tell stories. Expecially scary ones.
Poetry and short stories are fun to write: I'm working on a book now, but I don't like it anymore xD
I think I'm going to start a new one....with a better plot. Have you ever tried to write a book? For fun?
