well your character could have it's own spirit creature, and has the power to control one element, like wind or metal, or dark, and the spirit creature could do many different things, and they could ride on it if they want ( only the owner of a creature could ride on it, if one other ninja tries to tell it to do whatever, it will ignore, well unless it knows it has to! ) but there are strange things going on and now paranormal stuff is happening, and ninja's are getting possessed by mysterious and evil things, and they are becoming evil, ever since that started, the sky has become cloudy and dark, and darkness seems to rise and appear out of nowhere, well who wants to join this?

personality: a bit weird, no one knows what he is really thinking, but he is also stronger then the other ninjas think, and he rarely talks, he is also fearless, but he is a bit friendly towards other ninjas, but he hides his eyes behind a mask, ( you will know why later )
problems: when he does talk, he studders or whatever, and that is why most ninjas laugh at him, but then he ignores that and walks away, and he had an injury and a broken bone way long ago, that is why he walks weird
