"Okay..." The nurse came.
"Uh, he's fine," I said. -
"Thanks."

My mom was looking at us. "So, uh, are you two, like, a couple or something? And you're living in the same house? And you're teenagers?"

"I guess."

"Hmm... well, you're lucky I trust you," she said, returning to her magazine. I was relieved. Sometimes I thought my parents were unreal. Then when I was six I woke Dad up in the middle of the night because of a dream. They were definitely real.

Dylan sat up in his bed and looked at Lilac's mom.
"Thank you. I seem to be saying that a lot, dont I?" -
I sat down in the chair next to Dylan's bed. My mom looked at him. "Kind of..."

"I love you." He whispered to Lilac.

"I love you too." I whispered back.

Dylan lay back, wishing he hadnt ever stolen anything. Maybe this wouldnt of happened.

I took Dylan's hand softly and held it.

Dylan glanced at Lilac, wishing he could change his past for her.

I looked over at Dylan.

"I dont deserve you."

"What if I don't want what you think I deserve?"
Mom left the room quietly, planning to leave us alone.
