(Mom's thinking I might break the computer... :O I'm smarter with this thing than she is...)
I pulled out three of the knives, and then a fourth, just in case. I didn't even want this job. But I guess you don't get what you want. It still sucked.
I closed the case and looked at the building, planning escape routes. -
manders NoviceJasmine responded to her look with a grin and a shrug then said to her friend matt "matt excuse us, we're gonna take a bathroom break".

I stood and walked toward the building, the knives in my pocket; the case back in the bushes. I opened the door quietly. May as well crash the party. I saw a guy standing there. Dirty blond hair, green eyes... he was actually kind of cute. But he was a demon, and, like, three or four years older than I was. I stood there quietly, looking at him.

Maru scowled. She walked away with Jasmine, and when she was sure she was out of earshot, she thumped her head.
"When did you start deciding when I need to take a bathroom break?" she said.
"That's so embarassing!" -
manders NoviceJasmine glared at her cousin and said "fine i'll explain to him later that i had to take the piss but it didn't seem like you were intrsested anyway cuz, he's a nice guy, cute and funny you should give him a chance" then took out her lipstick and reapplied.

I walked over to him. "Hi."

Maru rolled her eyes.
"Whatever. I'm starving. I'll be at the snack table if you need me." she said, hooking her claw toward a table stacked with yummy-looking food in the corner of the room. -
manders NoviceJasmine returned the eyeroll and said "ok fine, i'm going to go flirt with a cute guy or something"

"Hey, is there, like, a backyard in this place or something?" I wasn't sure exactly what to say. I mean, he was a lot older than me, and I was about to kill him.

As Maru stalked toward the table, she passed Matt. She noticed a strange human talking to him.
"Hey, is there, like, a backyard in this place or something?" she asked him, looking uncomfortable. Maru didn't like her. She walked past, glaring intensely at her. -
manders NoviceMatt looked down at the little girl and said "for demons..not demon murderers" and stepped back into a stance with claws out ready to defend himself if need be.

Maru stopped cold. Matt had taken up an offensive stance. His claws were raised to the human girl. She heard the words "demon murderer", but nothing more of what he said.
She inched closer to the two. -
Crap. Uh, what was I supposed to do exactly? I involuntarily dropped to my knees. "Don't kill me! I didn't want to do this!" I probably looked pathetic.

Very suddenly, to Maru's surprise and sick delight, the human dropped to her kneees and began to plead for her life. She looked pathetic.

manders NoviceMatt stared down at the girl and said "i would never kill anyone unless they try to kill me, i was defending myself as trained to do, but here's a tip , don't plan on killing someone who can read your mind for future reference" and helped the girl up.
