Aww, I can relate. My godfather died a few weeks ago.
But, you being there for her is what counts: if you feel her pain, it means you're a true friend :)
I'm sorry for yu both, though. I hope things get better and that she (and you) get over it as quickly as possible... get over it, not forget it. She should remember all the good times she had with him, and not the bad.
He wouldn't want her to be sad, now would he? Noo, he'd want her to be living life happily, that's what'll make him proud.
