My 8yrld corn snake Amber has been I'll recently she wasn't eating or drinking because of that she became skinny and de-hydrated. They put it down to the fact it wasn't warm enough. So we got her warmed up and managed to force feed her a rat. And she lightened up. But dad force fed her a big mouse this morning and she's just very still her heads to the side and her mouths wide open she's only moved the tip of her tail but that's the only movement and salivas been dripping from her mouth. Can anyone tell me what this means. Please I've had her since I was 9 and she means alot to me

I read the website mo gave... I think it helps alot... Your snake might be infected by bacteria and u should take it to the vet...

Or it ate too much and could end up regurgitating the rat.

At first i thought it was simply digesting the rat since she said they fed it in the morning...

Maybe it was too much for it to stomach. So she could be getting ready to throw up. Or she's just sick.

They have to get her hydrated then she can eat.

Agreed... But still they should take her to the vet as an extra precaution

It says to take them to the vet so they can get fluids and show you how to force water. And it says they eat every 10 days or so. So she probably wasn't hungry.

Exactly... And she said it was a big mouse they force fed... She wasnt hungry and she over ate, and she might be dehydrated...

So she'll probably regurgitate it.

And what about the temperature thing?... She said it wasnt warm enough so they warmed her up... Could it be too hot for her?

You're only supposed to heat half the tank so one side is cooler.

We only heated half the tank and she didn't go into that half. We tried her with a drink but she wasn't interested. She hasn't moved since I posted and is still on her side salivating.
