They finished watching the movie.
"Mmhmm." He nodded. -
"Now what?"
"Rest, my flower." He smiled. -
The front door opened and his mom walked in. "Sorry, Devin. I forgot my purse..." she stopped dead in her tracks when she say him cuddling with Nikki.
He closed his eyes. -
"...Hi..." He gave her a small smile.
He smiled and held him. -
"Hello." His mother smiled wryly. "Mom, this is Nikki. Nikki, this is my mom." Devin bit his lip. His mom didn't know yet. About anything.
He drifted off into sleep, still in his arms. -
"Nice to finally meet you..." He whispered 'b----' under his breath.

"You too." She grabbed her purse off the kitchen table. "Well, I'll be off now. You boys have fun." She hurried out. "Jesus..." Devin let out a sigh of relief when the front door shut.

"That worked out better than I thought."

"I thought she'd start hollering. I guess she's learned to control her temper. Unless that guy already seduced her." He shook his head at the thought.

"How old is that guy?"

"I don't know. Not as old as her and I know that for a fact."

"How old do you think he is?"

"Judging from the picture she just sent me of him and her, I'd guess around 35 to 37." He showed him his phone.

"Ugh."

"That sickens me... So much..." he shuddered.
