His heart was pounding fast. He ran his hand lightly down his cheek.

"Devin..." He closed his eyes and cuddled up to him.

"Nikki..." he whispered back, holding him close.

"I wonder what your mom will say. Obviously Arata doesn't mind."

"My mom's usually a pretty understanding person. I'm sure she'll be fine with it."

"Let's hope so." He took out a plum.

"Yeah... When my mom flips out it's not pretty." He took a sip of water.

"Arata could scare her too, if ya want."

He chuckled. "My mom's getting old. I don't want to give her a heart attack. But thanks for the offer."

"Any time."

Somebody walked in. "Lunch is just about over, boys. You can start cleaning up if you'd like."

"Okay, thank you."

Devin started to clean up his lunch, throwing his garbage in the trash barrel.

He cleaned up and took his hand.

"What period's next?" he asked as they exited the office, hand in hand.
