Ordinary Day - Vanessa Carlton
Just a day,
Just an ordinary day.
Just trying to get by.
Just a boy,
Just an ordinary boy.
But he was looking to the sky.
And as he asked if I would come along
I started to realize
That everyday he finds
Just what he's looking for,
Like a shooting star he shines.
He said take my hand,
Live while you can
Don't you see your dreams lie right in the palm of your hand
And as he spoke, he spoke ordinary words
Although they did not feel
For I felt what I had not felt before
And you'd swear those words could heal.
And as I looked up into those eyes
His vision borrows mine.
And I know he's no stranger,
For I feel I've held him for all of time.
And he said take my hand,
Live while you can
Don't you see your dreams lie right in the palm of your hand
In the palm of your hand.
Please come with me,
See what I see.
Touch the stars for time will not flee.
Time will not flee.
Can you see?
Just a dream, just an ordinary dream.
As I wake in bed
And the boy, that ordinary boy
Or was it all in my head?
Did he asked if I would come along
It all seemed so real.
But as I looked to the door,
I saw that boy standing there with a deal.
And he said take my hand,
Live while you can,
Don't you see all your dreams lie right in the palm of your hand
In the palm of your hand,
In the palm of your hand.
Just a day, just an ordinary day
Just trying to get by.
Just a boy,
Just an ordinary boy.
But he was looking to the sky. -

Jack, Finnegan, and The Bean Stalk
once upon a time there we're to bean farmers. one was named Finnegan and he planted navy beans, and the other was named jack, and he planted soy beans.
but eeevery year there crop would get all mixed up! but this year was different. they decided that this year they would not stand for a mixed up crop!
they discussed late into the night for several weeks before they finally heard the words that would shape their destiny.
"I KNOW" jack exclaimed. Finnegan started to ask what it was but jack cut him off short "WE WILL PLANT THE SAME CROP!"
while both of the farmers loved this idea, they had no idea the mischief it would bring to them. you see jack had yelled his idea so loud that all of the miserly merchants in town heard them, and one VERY miserly traveling man.
the next morning jack and Finnegan went out to pick a bean to plant. of course all the miserly merchants had lined the streets with outrageously priced bean seeds.
the two farmers looked and looked and looked but they could never find beans that were both healthy and affordable.
the miserly old traveling man stood back smiling as the the two farmers became more and more frustrated. finally on their second circle around the market, and finding nothing Finnegan threw up his hands in discussed and swore in the most colorful, words he knew. but when he lowered his hands and stopped his ranting he noticed a cart that had not been there before. he suddenly returned to an excited domineer and tugged jack toward the new vendor.
"hello." said Finnegan. "how much are these bean seeds priced for?"
the miserly traveling man said "heh heh heh, well they sell for what ever price you think is fair. i would not dream of taking to much payment for my service."
the two farmers were so excited that they purchased the seeds, sowed them, watered them and finally went to bed without ever wondering what kind of seeds they were.
the following months the two farmers became VERY angry with the traveling man, because how ever much they weeded, how ever much they watered the plant would not come up!
after months of searching for the traveling man all they had were empty fields, depleted bank accounts amd empty bellies.
on the final night of their search jack and Finnegan gave up all hope. and went to bed with a heavy heart.
that night as the moon peeked it's face over the hills the bean seeds stirred underground, and stretched and yawned, and suddenly half a years worth of watering and weeding and fertilizing the fields kicked in all at once.
they Sprouted up out of the ground and grew taller and taller and TALLER.
until they were so heavy several plants begin to break!
the bean plants lashed together in one massive stalk that stretched from here to the sky. -
thanks for the boost BMTH.
