Dylan sat in his bedroom, staring out the window. He cranked up his iPod to full blast as he tapped the beat with his drumsticks on his desk. Bang, bang, bang, bang the beat rang through his ears. -
Alla lay out in her front yard, eyes closed. She didn't seem to mind the three kittens crawling all over her.

Dylan heard an alarm sound over his music. He quickly paused it and raced down the stairs. "Grandma, what's happening?" he asked to his grandmother, frozen on her couch in shock. She shook and grabbed Dylan's wrist tightly. "The End is near..." she said, her voice low and urgent.

"Alla, come inside!" Rina shouted, and Alla quickly obeyed. "What is it?" "Get into the basement."

"Wha... what?" Dylan replied as his grandmother and grandfather brought him to the basement. "What's going on... Grandpa? Grandma?" they didn't answer.

"Rina-sama, what's going on?" Alla asked again. Rina didn't answer, and instead lined the door with mud. Once the door was no longer seen, she turned and gave her niece a large hug.

His grandfather locked the door and shoved boxes of old newspapers infront of it. The sirens still blared outside. "The apocalypse, child.." his grandmother murmured. "I never thought I'd live to see this happen..." she hugged him tightly.
