✨Remember folks: by privacy laws, you are not required to tell your workplace what disability you have. By law, your workplace is not allowed to tell you that you don't have one because you won't tell them what it is.
According to the American Disability Association, a Disability in the workplace is summed up as a condition that prohibits, restricts, or interferes with work; it is also defined as something that requires treatment and/or accommodations. Needless to say, these accommodations will most likely be issued by your doctor, which should immediately stop accusations of faking disabilities, especially if you have a record of need for treatment.
If, however, you find your company demanding details and names of your disability, you have a right to sue for discrimination.✨ -
And yes, mental health conditions are covered under disabilities!

People who struggle with mental health need to be heard, not oppressed. We have to make a living, too, and that shouldn't be determined by whether or not we're able to smile for 8 hours a day.
