Ok but can someone explain to me why the books that say slurs (specifically the f and t one) end up being the best books like tf?
Also book recommendation: The Art of Being Normal (yeah, it says slurs, but it's so so gay and trans and omfg it's so precious) -

Ok so the book I was talking about before, The Art of Being Normal?
Possibly the best book I've ever read. I need everyone to read it. Like, it's up there with Magnus Chase and Clap When You Land (Which you should read too, but it has some trigger warnings like sexual assault (technically same for The Art of Being Normal) and brief homophobia (again, same for the Art of Being Normal) so be aware)
AHHH it's amazing. Read it. Don't look up the summarization for it, because it has a massive spoiler.
Basically, David is a closeted trans girl, and Leo moves in and becomes his friend after beating up a kid that bullied him, but Leo has a secret of his own that he doesn't want anyone- even David, or the girl he's crushing on- to find out.
ITS SO GOOD and this is going to be such a long post/rant but idgaf read it. Get off of here and read it. -
I might be more of a fanboy for Leo from this book than Charlie or Tori from Heartstopper.
That's saying something -

The whole f---ing book
I've been crying for way too long
That book is such a rollercoaster that I don't need to go to theme parks for the rest of my life
I'm talking like, reading the whole 4th book of Heartstopper in one sitting level crying/rollercoaster. This f---ing book is something else, man
I want to make Leo exist in the real world and make him my best friend and never leave his side holy f--- why is he so amazingly amazing

She was my favorite character for such a long time and then she went "Woah I think we have to break up, you didn't tell me you were trans, and I was in love with you, but now I feel weird so get the f--- out of my house"

I mean, we never get an actual reaction from her before the POV switches to Katy, but her initial reaction and her reaction afterwards being like "I'm hEaRtbRoKEn" says enough for me xD

I flipped to a random page to see if I'd like the book and it was THAT PAGE

I mean, I checked the book out immediately after, which probably says something about my taste in books/mental state at the moment, but shhh
