That's cool! That seems to be very popular, felines and the canids. I think it's very cool, and you definitely deserve to be accepted. All therians do. My family made fun off them, all because of the litter boxes in schools and stuff. I try to defend, but then I became the weird one.

Yeah, lots of newly awakened therians usually go for either felines or canids first, but then end up realizing that they are actually something else.
And then there's me, who actually IS a feline lmfao
It's unfortunate that we get so much hate, even though we aren't hurting anyone, but I've just learned to deal with it and ignore it. My family also makes fun of us, plus furries because in their eyes, furries = therians/otherkin. -
I see that a lot. I dressed up as a wolf for Halloween, and I don't know if I'm a furry or a therian, but I was bullied for wearing wolf ears a tail and a furry neck piece as well as painting my face to look like fur. I don't think anyone in the community b deserves hate, especially since Therians and Otherkin are under the LGBTQ+ umbrella.

well, furries are just people who cosplay as anthropomorphic animals, while therians/otherkin are people who identify as animals in a non-physical way. I can't really say if you are one or the other, but research is important if you think you are a therian :)
I'm not sure that us Therians/Otherkin are a part of the LGBTQIA+ community since we're not a sexuality/gender identity. We're just an identity. But idk, I'm a dummy. -
Well, since it's an identity, Therians have their own flag. It is covered under a sort of identity. I can't really say for sure though.

Yeah, it does. I know some people are trying to put the zooph1l3 flag and the r@p3 flag in with sexualities and I don't think that's right.
But I feel like maybe some people see Therians as a gender identity. That's just a guess, so I'm sorry if that comes off weird. -

I really hope people don't see us as a gender identity, cuz then they'd be just straight out wrong. my gender identity is different from my animal identity. -
Yeah, I know. I also don't like the April 24th deal. That makes me nervous.
I do too, because I know that, but there is also the identity thing. Like people have pronouns like cat/catself or things like that, so maybe that's why people think of Therians as a part of the community. -

Speaking of therians, do you know if there are any on this site? I haven't really asked anyone, since it kind of felt like a weird question to just randomly ask. -

I'm not sure. But it wouldn't hurt to ask. I have a personality disorder and the people I've told have been open and understanding. I feel like you saying you're a therian would be met with the same openness. A lot of people here are part of the LGBTQ+ community and other things like that, so it's not like it's gonna be that odd to ask. Hopefully. -
Don't mean to intrude, but I saw the two abominable groups mentioned and thought I might also say that ch*ld preditors are also trying to get in as LGBTQ+, claiming to have a sexual identity of a younger person. My fiance and I were just discussing this last night. He's not in the community, but he pointed out that this, too, has nothing to do with LGBTQ+, and at this point, people are abusing sexualities to try to pass crimes like the other two you guys mentioned.
And I'm sure the people pushing for these things have no genuine respect for LGBTQ+ people or knowledge/understanding of the various identities. Most likely, the ones who scoff and ridicule others thought they could then "jump on board" to push their disgusting and UNLAWFUL behavior into the community and use the community as protection to be treated equally... -
Oh dear, yeah them too. f--- all of 'em, none of them count. I hate them SO MUCH, and it kind of scares me that they are trying to get into the LGBTQ+ community.
I might ask around at one point, but for now, I'm not gonna say anything about it until I learn more about myself and have a solid idea of what my theriotype is. This conversation has actually given me the motivation to keep doing more research since I've been refusing to do any because I'm a lazy bum lmfao -
