I am friends with the most wonderful gay couple. When they were younger they tried coming out to their parents and were emotionally and verbally abused as a result. They were children who needed acceptance and received years of trauma instead.
Now that they're older and healing from their trauma, they DO "wear it on their head." That's because they've earned it. They're trying to reclaim something they were told to associate with shame and make it something that they can be proud of.
All that to try to explain that "wearing it on your head" is a gross characterization of why LGBT people celebrate pride. You wouldn't tell a veteran to not put up flags and decorum about their service because they EARNED them. Same with LGBT people.
We are not trying to "make it our whole personalities," we are trying to grow and understand ourselves and also to create a world where it is safe for everyone to express themselves. We are trying to create the future that we would've wanted when we were kids, for our kids and for every future generation. -

It's no use explaining myself, because y'all won't accept my apology. Y'all are bent on firing me when even you're not perfect. Everyone is prone to mistakes. So if you're not forgiving me, i tried. Begged for your forgiveness even. No one is perfect. You've made many bad mistakes countless times even. And you've been forgiven. I don't see why you're holding back forgiving me for something i did wrong?
I'm trully sorry. I admit now that it's all my fault. I never should have said those bad things and disrespect you.
If you're hell bent on not forgiving me, it's fine. Your hatred/aggression isn't gonna affect me one way or another. -

You were being a bigot and you were being homophobic, so I don't think those are insults. Who called you stupid or dumb? I don't think you understand the difference between being insulted and being called out.
Now, I'm at work. If you're truly interested in what I have to say, I'll have time to respond later tonight. But right now I can tell you, you're probably not going to like it. I don't believe your apology is sincere and I don't believe you have any intention of putting in the work you change yourself. That is why I am not able to accept your apology at this time. -
Could you deny that you never said a word of insult against me? You started the whole thing the moment you came into my thread and started calling me names without asking what was meant in the posts.
Regardless, i take full responsibility for saying those things and disrespecting you and anyone else. I sincerely apologise and promise never to do it again. -
I'm not an homophobic person, and i'm still looking for answers as to wheather God trully exists. I'm religion neutral, and i've been quite [deleted] lately. Go ahead, say what you want. No one is perfect from mistakes and will ever be.
