Thread Topic: Help find a solo piece for choir.

I have to find a solo by tomorrow.
But just a warning I'm going to be extremely picky.
Last year I did Somewhere Beyond the Sea, if that helps. -
"Duerme Negrito"
Fantastic solo in it for first to mezzo sop.

What I like about it is the technical construction around the vowels. Its a quality piece because it was purposely written so that the vowels and consonants work well with the melody making it very easy on the ears and a perfect piece for anyone interested in doing a foreign language piece. Not sure you are but I figured I'd offer anyways

Sorry but I'd rather have something in English, I don't want to have to learn lyrics in another language.
Oh almost forgot to mention school appropriate. -
I don't have much time either.
-
"My loves in Germany" is also fantastic and maybe more your style
-
All of my recommendations are TMEA approved btw
-
If you don't like that one either you can always look up the all state choir repertoire list for yourself.
-
Ooh I like that one. I'll keep it in mind.
-
I think I'd speed it up though since it would be rather long otherwise
-
Maybe 'You Are My Sunshine?'
-
I really wanted to do this one, but I can't go that low and if I do it an octave up it completely takes away from the mood of the song.
-
Oh there's a song I remember liking, but I don't remember how it went but I remember the title. I'll have to listen to it when I get home, though.
-
Maybe I don't remember the title, actually.
-
I like folk, Celtic, and jazz
