Encanto isn’t a good movie
1. The songs are nothing special
2. The plot was badly thought-out
3. Characters are flat
4. Animation wasn’t spectacular
5. Nothing connected
6. It was a mess
7. The message wasn’t delivered well -
im still confused about what the message was. i loved bruno's character but then i have a thing for psychics
-
You are off about the animation, watching those skirts was mesmerizing
-
I thought the movie was good, pretty standard disney faire
-
I still want to watch it lol
I personally like the songs, but that's because I have an overeactive imagination and can think out scenes with my own OC's rather than the actual movie scenes.
I've already got inspired to make another roleplay with one of the songs. So... -
I really liked the music, personally
-
I liked the part where I didn't watch it.😝
-
I think Encanto is a pretty good movie. I actually just watched it for the second time like three minutes ago.
I don't think it's a movie that will ever get old, honestly. I could keep on watching it and it would still be good. -
Looks like you don't have a very popular opinion Cham lol
-
I liked the music, and I liked Bruno, but other than that yeah it sucked
-
I liked Bruno and certain music, but ye, it did kinda suck
-
I don’t mean that the animation was bad, but it got much more praise than it should’ve gotten. While, yes, the skirts and hair moved nicely - it wasn’t amazing and definitely didn’t blow me away.
And the music… it just sounds like every other song that Lin-Manuel Miranda has written. They’re catchy, but don’t contribute to the plot or message.
We Don’t Talk About Bruno only talks about how Bruno ruined a wedding and predicted the future.
It’s not bad, but so mediocre. Coco didn’t get that much praise, even though it’s clearly a much better movie. The theme was so hard to understand.
- Because the songs were saying “I’m under so much pressure”
- The first half of the movie was saying “Abuela hates Mirabel, and she didn’t get a gift”
- The last half is “We’re all special, and Abuela is abusive and everyone’s stressed”
It’s like they couldn’t decide to a general theme to stick to. And for the “everyone’s so pressured to be something”
First, does that Camilo kid seem like he’s being pressured? Second, the only real examples of being pressured are Luisa and Isabela. The mom seems to be totally fine.
Lastly, their miracle was given to them for what reason? Plus, their gifts are honestly kind of useless. How do flowers really benefit anyone? -
Aight Cham I have to disagree with you a bit there
1. The songs are nothing special
The songs helped move the plot along, and express the characters better. I actually like 'em, but to each their own
2. The plot was badly thought-out
Maybe the plot could have been a little better, but it's also a kid's movie so it needs to be relatively simple for the kiddos to understand
3. Characters are flat
I don't quite think so! I don't know how to explain it properly, but the characters were really well done in my opinion. The characters and their reactions seem realistic (except for the fact that they're magic lol but that's besides the point)
4. Animation wasn’t spectacular
I disagree, everything is smooth and well done, with the textures and lighting, and everything and if you zoom in on the character's clothing, it's very realistic and detailed! And also animation is really, really hard and to make an entire movie and to have the scenes all work together is extra hard
5. Nothing connected
Not sure what you mean by this? But I think that it's pretty well connected considering that most of the characters' problems stem from the generational abuse (even if it's unintentional) from Abuela, and it affects the whole family. The connection to Mirabel to the house isn't just a one time thing and is actually quite consistent.
6. It was a mess
I feel like this is more so opinion-wise, and is kind of a broad term so I won't really dive into it ajksj
7. The message wasn’t delivered well
What message do you mean? The movie's general theme is generational abuse affecting the Madrigal family, and in the end, having the family and the town rebuild Casita and the bit where Abuela opens up and accepts that she is wrong is the start of something positive and good, which I think is a pretty good thing. Overall I think the message is pretty good -
But I also think that the family shouldn’t have gotten their powers back. The movie’s also about a family in Colombia, and I think the culture comes out very well. However, they’re literally living in a paradise and don’t interact with the real world.
The whole miracle thing was so weird. Abuela just started crying because her husband was killed (and her husband doesn’t have a a real purpose in the movie) and suddenly her candle turns into magic? Explanation, please and thank you -
Honestly I feel like it could’ve been great and they just screwed up
